Describe your situation prior to enrolling in FAIM: I was trying to build experience through Americorps service.
Why did you sign up for FAIM? I thought the program would help me to be better prepared for buying a home – and help me to build the skills necessary to keep the home.
How has FAIM helped you? FAIM has given mea much better understanding of the responsibility needed to own a home. I also learned a lot about predatory lending, and what to do if I ever have a financial problem.
Why did you pick Home Purchase? I picked home purchase because it meant the most to me personally. I knew I needed some help to get there.
What part of FAIM helped you most? I feel that the classes helped a lot. I enjoyed the speakers who came in for Home Stretch. They helped to ease my fears. I think it was great that I had to save money on a regular basis, but that I could watch it grow.
Would you recommend this program and why? Yes – I would definitely recommend the program. It is a great opportunity to connect with people and agencies in our community while working to attain a goal. I truly appreciate all of the support, education, and resources FAIM has given me.
