Micro Enterprise Story

Name:  Anonymous

Age: 30/32

Family Structure:  Married with two children

Employment Status:  Husband is self-employed; wife is employed full time.

Describe your situation prior to enrolling in FAIM: We were rebuilding our credit.  We didn’t have any money in savings.  We spend all that we made.

Why did you sign up for FAIM? We wanted to start a small business.

How has FAIM helped you?  It has enabled us to save enough money to set up our small business.

Why did you pick Small Business?  We had already purchased a home and had some college education.  We liked the idea of adding extra income to our household with a small business.

What part of FAIM helped you most?   Having our savings matched $3 to $1 was nice!  We learned to budget our money every month.  I also still refer to my financial class book when I want to know something about credit reports or savings.

Would you recommend this program and why?   Yes, definitely!   It was a great program to encourage us to save for our goals and make them happen.   I would recommend it to everyone who needs some encouragement to make a better future for yourself and your family.
